    Russell Sage Foundation
    The Russell Sage Foundation's program on Behavioral Economics supports innovative research that uses behavioral insights from psychology and other social sciences to examine and improve social and living conditions in the United States. They seek investigator-initiated research proposals that will broaden the understanding of the social, economic and political consequences of real-life behaviors and decisions that deviate from the neoclassical economic standards of rationality. RSF is especially interested in behavioral economics research that contributes to their understanding of topics of interest under its other programs—Future of Work; Race, Ethnicity and Immigration; Social Inequality.

    Center for Education and Ethics
    These support research projects in philosophy relating to educational policy and practice. Applicants are encouraged to explore educational policy and practice in broad terms, including issues that directly relate to K-12 schools and HEIs, but also concerning policies that influence children’s growth and development in the family and other institutions. The centre also encourages diverse kinds of philosophical research ranging from the highly abstract to the highly applied. Proposals might concern any of the following topics: •the proper content of moral education and of the rights of parents to choose its content; •the place of religion in schools; •justice and efficiency in the allocation of public funds across schools and school districts; •the content of the curriculum; •the commercialisation of schools and childhoods generally; •the obligations to students with special educational needs; •the proper content of sex education in particular and “education for living” more generally and the extent to which it is right for schools to defer to parental preferences regarding these matters; •the moral rights of school students to privacy, to freedom of expression, to freedom of association; •the rights and obligations of teachers with respect to abusive or violent children; •should schools cultivate the virtues needed to sustain a democratic society, and if so, what are they and how is this best done given the other values schools should realise and pursue; •ethical considerations in college admissions and enrolment.

  • Michelson grants

    Found Animals
    Found Animals invites applications for the Michelson grants. These support research in pursuit of a single-dose, permanent, nonsurgical sterilization product or technology for use in male and female dogs and cats. The proposed project must pursue a technology, mechanism, or pathway representing an innovative approach to nonsurgical sterilization. Investigators are encouraged to submit for proof of concept studies in cell culture or rodents, or in dogs and cats.

    The Open Scholarship and Digitisation programmes in the Merensky 2 Library offers a variety of digitisation services in support of research, research visibility, teaching and learning, digital archiving, and preservation. ·The Digi Office services support: ·300 dpi scanning of maps, artwork, photographs, etc up to A0 size format; ·scanning of articles, manuscripts, theses and dissertations; ·conversion from cassette and vinyl record to MP3; and ·scanning of public domain books to be hosted on the Internet archive and made available for downloading in PDF, Full text, DAISY, Kindle, EPUB and ABBYY formats.
